This page is to assist parents as they support their children with homework. Many teachers in the Middleton School District have now participated in the Math Thinking Initative. This is training that is required by state law for recertification and provided by the Idaho State Department of Education through the BSU Center for School Improvement. The training is EXCELLENT and supports a deep understanding of mathematical problem solving. But, as teachers and students begin to use MTI strategies and language, parents haven't always felt in the loop. We intend to use this spot to "capture" actual Middleton kids' thinking to showcase these strategies. Please let us know if you have any questions about a particular strategy that you don't see hear, but that your child has been asked to use.
